DDRKC is a relatively informal organization that hopes to introduce, educate, and promote dancing and other rhythm games not only in the greater Kansas City area, but worldwide as well.

Rhythm games are all about fun and crowd participation. Unlike most standard video games, they are truly a delight for the audience to watch the players and enjoy the skill involved. And the music tends to be upbeat and exciting as well, which can lead to hours of fun for everyone.

DDRKC does not limit its scope to the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, and includes members from all over Kansas, Missouri, and the whole of the United States of America. The primary focus, however, is on the local area.

Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) is not the only rhythm game DDRKC members excel in. The following are some other rhythm-based games that DDRKC members either play actively or have an interest in:

• BeatMania (BM) and BeatMania IIDX (BM IIDX) are DJ simulation games.
• Para Para Paradise (PPP) is a Japanese dance style game.
• Pump It Up (PIU) is a dance game similar to DDR.
• Taiko No Tatsujin (TnT) is a Japanese style drum simulator.
• Pop'n Music (PnM) is a different style rhythm game.
• DrumMania (DM) and Percussion Freaks (PF) are Drum Simulators.
• Guitar Freaks (GF) is a Guitar Siulator.
• In The Groove (ITG) is another stage-based Dancing SImulator.
