I got an interesting series of phonecalls today.

Apparently a London based, British company listed here http://www.zigzagproductions.tv is interested in filming this event for a documentary they're doing on ITG players.

I was in contact with them today and they said they'll be at the event on Saturday to film it, and do some interviews with myself, Damien, Travis and a couple other people.

I also talked to Kristy of RoXoR games today, and this event is a definate 'go' for a nationals qualifier. EVERYONE WHO CAN BE THERE, SHOULD BE THERE...this will be an excellent competition no one will want to miss.

See you on Saturday.

Just as John asked, is anyone else going to enter the tournament other than BlueMystic, Damien, Rebo, EvilDave, and John? I don't really want to enter if there's under 20 people entering the actual tournament since I won't be attending the nationals if I'm top 8.

Cam is probably coming to this too.

And my girlfriend is entering =O

EDIT-And I think Bill and whoever else he's bringing is coming to this too. People should compete regardless anyways, it's a tournament and gives you good experience.

PS I wouldn't mind bacon filming if we could actually get the damn movies up on teh intarweb =O

I'm competing, Cable. Even though you and everyone else will slaughter me.
I think I might have a few friends coming. I was under the assumption that this wouldn't be too elitist, and that a lot of people were going to compete.

Guess I was wrong.

Nah, I don't think Nascart even knows we're doing this yet.

Just clean the tops of them and lift your feet more and you'll be fine.

Hey John, have talked to Nascart at all about this? If you did, I'm sure they would want some money from you. It might be a good idea to tell them in advance. They might have some issues if we have like 30 people in there and they know we're holding a competition and having money thrown around.

Well Bill, I was saying that because one time a person that worked at NC asked me if we ever wanted to hold a tournament there. Nascart doesn't get the money from the machines, the vendor does. When the person that worked at NC asked me if we wanted to hold a tournament there, they said they would want money for us to use their machine. Therefore, they might have issues if we come in and demand to use their machine all day.... we also wouldn't have the authority to stop someone from playing that wasn't in the tournament if they so wished to. Just some thoughts.

Havin run a few tournies I know its just nice to not worry about other people worring.

IE - Dont worry, John is a good tournament host. Till he flops, dont lose faith.

I haven't made mention of it, and I didn't plan too.

As far as they're concerned this will just be an unexpected boom in business for the day.

I'm not asking for freeplay, I'm buying the games for everyone with that extra $5.00 fee from entry.

If it becomes an issue, I'll find a way to speed up the competition and have people out of there, but I'm not seeing it becoming a problem, the workers there really don't give a rat's @$$ about the ITG players, and the machine is isolated into a corner anyway.

I also doubt that anyone planning to play at Nascart that day is uninformed about the competition at this point... in addition, the casual bystander who may want to play will have that lovely DDR machine calling to them from the front and center of the arcade, as opposed to trying to play admidst a huge crowd in the opposite corner.

It'll be fine.
